Whoa! 2007 has past already and boy did this year fly by! A lot of good things happened that I feel inclined to blog about. It’s been too long since my last post. I seriously need to post more often — like weekly at least! Anyway, there aren’t a lot but here are the highlights:

The Freelance Experience
This year has been filled with so much design work. I made my first logo, business cards, and website for a paying client: Johnny on the Spot. I was so inspired by the experience, I decided to make freelancing my career. Of course, being green there were so many things I did wrong business wise that I, unfortunately, didn’t make enough money from the project. Even so, I’m fired up about being a freelance graphic designer!

The Return of College
I took a semester off from school but last fall, I returned ready for some schooling. I didn’t go back to UNCC though but decided to go the less expensive route: community college. A majority of my classes were challenging but I managed to pass with all As. Yeah baby! I return next week for the spring semester.

The Bunny Purchase
What a delight to have an addition to the household! A very adorable addition mind you. Yes, I’m talking about Bigwig. Our not so little furry Flemish giant. Born in May of 2006, we acquired him at the age of 3 months. He is now 6 months old and weighs at 12 pounds or 5kg. It’s very nice to hear our little bunny hop around the house (and leave little bunny pellets for us to clean).

The Politics
This is the year of Ron Paul! It’s the year when politics have become more important to me. I’ve become quite active in this field to support my man Ron Paul. Colin and I both have attended rallies and sign wavings for this candidate. With the primaries coming up, I hope to be more involved in spreading the message of freedom and the Constitution!!

The Siblings
Most importantly, I started communicating with my siblings living in the Philippines via e-mail. They are my half siblings to be exact, born from my late father whom passed away two years ago. Sadly, I never met my father and only communicated with him only through letters. I hope to meet my siblings in a couple of years but will continue e-mailing them as much as I can for now. Interesting bit of information: My middle name is Jorjan which was chosen because my father’s name was Jorge. His three children are thusly named Jedd, Jude and Jade.

Well, those are the highlights that stood out to me for 2007. I hope more good things will come this new year. I wish this too for all of you!

It’s Friday night, I’m driving home in my beat up Lexus with a belly full of $5.99 Chinese buffet food thinking I’m gonna be sick the next day. The CD player isn’t working so I have to listen to the radio, which plays the same five songs every hour. Kid Rock’s, what sounds to be, new song begins to play. I don’t care for the tempo really for it’s rather boring and repetitive but the lyrics get my attention.

The first verse begins with, “You got a body like the devil and you smell like sex.” This is when I realized it was Kid Rock. Boy did I know where this was heading! For your enjoyment, here’s the rest of the lyrics:
