Fini!

I’ve finally finished my first pixel art piece. It took me almost a month but that’s because of long pauses and work. I’ve submitted this piece at PixelJoint and am awaiting for my work to get ripped apart. Although, it’s not much to criticize. *shrug Well, I do hope people enjoy it. More will pixel art will be coming. Yeah!

Pixel Eye

Update! Okay, so I finally posted my eye piece at Pixelation. In response to the replies, I reworked the piece. It’s not so monochromatic now but I’m still not sure about the pallette. I’ll just have to see what the people at Pixelation have to say about this new version. Below is the link to the previous version.

Pixels aside, I got a request from a co-worker who is a repairman looking to get some web presence. It seems as though I’ll be working on my first serious web design project. I’m very excited! I will definitely post my progress here. I just can’t wait to see how it turns out…

In other news, I’ve updated the look of the links page and added a new section: “Pixel Art”. Yes, it deserves its own section. :-) I will add more links in the very near future. [Edit] Ehh don’t like how it looks, atm. I think I’ll play around with the pixel art section a bit more…but later.

Perfect practice makes perfect.

It’s been awhile (maybe not) since I last posted something but I’ve been very busy with work and pixel practice!

I’ve been goin’ back and forth in between pieces and I’ve realized I should focus on ONE piece. Sooooo…I started to pixel an eye I drew awhile back for practice. To the left is the progression. Yes, I’ve only got the main part of the eye done but I wanted it to be a little realistic! That there is some hardcore dithering, though, which I’ve found I really like doing.

I’m quite new to this so everything is going veeery slow. When I am complete, I shall add more to this piece and submit it to pixeljoint dot com. Woo!

Isometric building.

Here I have my first isometric building using this tutorial from pixeljoint.com. I know it’s rather plain but I’m new to this. Once I get a hang of it, I’ll be making larger work. Next though, I’m moving away from isometric and going into making sprites and even making (small, for now) detailed illustrations using pixels. I would so love to make portraits of people. First, I must practice!

I’ve been considering adding a column on this page. I actually tried to add one but the layout went all over the place. I just need to figure out how to add one without screwing the rest of the layout. Hmm…

My first try at isometric pixel art

With the help of pixelfreak.com’s tutorial, I was able to make my first isometric house. It’s rather simple and it almost looks like the end result of the tutorial but added my own touches to it. I will definitely be doing more of these.
