About
Shizucor houses all my art explorations. “Shizu” was taken from “Shizukesa” which means serenity and of course, “cor” is part of my name.
A Little About Me
I was born in the Philippines but have been living in Southern USA for 16 years now. I live with my husband of 2 years and his family. Currently, I’m a web designer running my own little design studio, CorInspired. I’m also a Teacher Assistant for a web design class at Central Piedmont Community College.
I’ve always been drawing even since I was a kid, even though it was infrequent. Lately, I’ve been dedicating more time to practicing figure drawing, painting with watercolors, hand-drawing typography and painting in digital media.
I started designing websites in 2001 because a couple of friends were doing it and I thought it was cool. From then on, I’ve learned a lot about XHTML, CSS, designing, and working with Photoshop. I’m also learning about PHP and Javascript. Everything I know is self taught but I can thank the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and CPCC for my development as a designer.
In my free time, I love watching movies with my husband, playing PC games, listening to music, drawing, pretending like I can sing, and learning to belly dance. In Fall 2010 I’ll be going to Aiken Tech for an Associates degree and then go to USC Aiken for a bachelor degree in fine arts.

About the Website
All graphical elements, with the exception of the Wordpress logo, RSS icon, and mail icon, were created by myself in Photoshop or come from my personal collection. The design makes use of semantic mark-up and valid XHTML/CSS.
This design is based on the background image. I loved it so much I wanted to use it for this re-design. As you can see the palette is derived from the floral image which was originally used as decals for ceramic pieces.
