Manga/Anime Style Self-Portrait

Self-Portrait I’ve been working on this for the past several days and I’m pretty happy with it. Of course, there is always something that can be improved so I’m open to critiques!

First, I started in my sketchbook drawing from a photo of me, scanned it to Illustrator and created the line art with the brush tool and the white arrow tool. Finally, I colored it in using Photoshop.

Your Album Cover #2

I thought I’d give this exercise another try!

Every Day In May 2: Your Album Cover #2

Once again, here are the instructions:

You’re making an album cover for a band. All the info you need is as follows:

  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random: The name of the band is the article you land on.
  2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3: The name of the album is the last four or five words of the last quote on the page.
  3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days: The picture you must use is the third picture on the page.

Interesting Website: Asian iCandy

15/365: Camera BagI’m not a shopper. Well, I would be but it’s not practical. Anyway, I do love to occasionally "window shop" on the internet. I can’t remember how but I stumbled upon this cute little store: Asian iCandy.

This store sells Asian-inspired items created by artists and designers. Beautiful stuff! You’ll find hand bags, jewelry, clothing, and even something for the babies! Different Asian countries are represented on this website like Tibet, China and Japan just to name a few. If you love anything Asian, this is the place for you. Watch out for the sushi earrings!

The bag in the image is what I use to carry my camera. It came from Japan thanks to my mother.

Neglect: I’m a repeat offender

5/365: Rahm the Pit BullOnce again, I neglect my blog! I can never seem to post an entry consistently. Posting once a week isn’t hard to do! I think my problem is the fact that I haven’t been able to concentrate on writing articles. I know what I want kind topics I want to cover, I just need to set a time for writing. I’ll be honest, I’m no writer but I try my best!

Luckily, I discovered Windows Live Writer through Smashing Magazine’s article Why Web Developers Don’t Need A Mac. Hopefully, with this application I can easily update this blog without having to go to the Dashboard. One of the coolest things about this program is that I can actually preview what the entry I’m currently working on will look like on my website. Are you using Windows Live Writer? If so, let me know what you think!

I’ll make no promises but I really want to put this site into good awesome use! Look out for more new articles and work soon!
